Registering with the Malaysian Medical Council and the National Specialty register can often feel like you're driving on a highway with many exits. You never quite know which way to go and what road to trust.
As doctors who have gone through the process ourselves, we've simplified the process for you. Now you know which exit to take and when.
Step 1 - Primary Source Verification
Primary Source Verification essentially verifies that your basic medical degree and postgraduate training is legitimate.
You can do this in one of 2 ways. The first is through Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and the second is through Data Flow. ECFMG is more well known and the interface is more user friendly; but it’s also more expensive.
Our detailed guide on PSV can be found in our member area.
Click on the logos below to the relevant ECFMG and Data Flow websites.
Step 2 - Create a MeRITS account
Once you have applied for PSV, you can create a MeRITS account. You can create one even before getting your PSV back.
MeRITS is basically Malaysia’s version of GMC online.
You can apply for provisional and full MMC registration on this portal.
The Fee for applying for full registration is RM150 and can be paid online.
Step 3 - Email
Archaic I know, but to make sure MMC receive your application, please email ecpmq@mmc.gov.my to confirm receipt of application
For more information regarding registration, you can find our complete guide below......
