Is this even possible?

When you begin as a consultant in a private hospital, you will have no clients. As such, hospitals often offer a Guaranteed Monthly Income (GMI) scheme to new consultants at the beginning of their private practice.
The value of GMI is individually negotiated but usually ranges between RM40,000-70,000 (£7k-£12k) per month. Consultants are usually offered a GMI period of between 6 months to 1 year. Following this period, most consultants will have enough patients and thus their incomes will be more than their agreed GMI.
During this onboarding process, hospitals will also work with you to market your services. Therefore, over time, your private practice will grow and you will start accumulating more patients.
